Who can attend?
Blackbird welcomes all genders and ages! Children from 14 years require parental permission.
What level do I belong in?
Please refer to our class descriptions. You are also welcome to contact us for a free assessment.
Can I try a single class?
Absolutely! You can purchase a single session ($36), but we highly recommend our Intro Offer of one month unlimited ($235) - then you can try as many of our casual classes as you like.
What do I wear & bring to class?
Pole Tricks: shorts or hotpants, singlet or crop top, heels optional, sweat towel, hand towel to clean the pole and water
Pole/Hoop/Chair Dance: knee pads recommended, heels optional, sweat towel, hand towel to clean the pole and water
Aerial Classes: leggings, t-shirt, socks, sweat towel, and water
Stretch & Acro: Yoga mat, sweat towel, leggings, socks and water
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes! Classes must be booked in advance to ensure there is space available and to confirm that your class is running.
How do I book a class?
Bookings can be made via MindBody or on our schedule.
What happens if I get on the waitlist?
Once a class is fully booked, you will be placed on a waitlist. If anyone cancels, you may be automatically added to the class and notified by email. If you cannot attend please ensure you cancel within 8 hours of class, exemptions if you are added into the class within 8 hours from the waitlist.
What is the cancellation policy?
Class must be cancelled a minimum of 8 hours prior to the start of class. Late cancellations are non-refundable.
INTRODUCTORY & UNLIMITED MEMBERS: Each late cancellation (within 8 hours of the start of class) will incur a $10 penalty fee, which is automatically charged to your account.
MEMBERSHIPS - If cancelled within the 8 hour window, you will loose that class pass.
We have a NO REFUND cancellation policy. If you do not wish to use your class pass, we can credit your account in which you may use for merchandise.
Courses and Workshops have a NO REFUND policy. Courses are specifically designed around the students and therefor require full commitment to the duration of the course. If you are unable to attend or finish the course for any reason, we will not provide a refund.
Terms & Conditions
Introductory Offers:
Can only be purchased once and are non-refundable.
Booking classes:
Class bookings can be made online at anytime. Payment must be made at the time of booking and classes cannot be reserved without payment.
Timely Attendance:
We ask that every effort is made to attend classes on time. The warm up is an integral part of the class and is compulsory in order to prevent injuries.
Instructors reserve the right to restrict client attendance if they feel the warm up time is inadequate.
Direct Debit Payments:
All memberships and contracts are charged via direct debit fortnightly prior to the fortnight starting. You are responsible for ensuring that funds are available at the time of deduction. If a payment is declined, the system will automatically retry on the next business day, and you will incur a failed payment fee of $1.00, charged by MindBody for every attempt.
Suspensions:
MEMBERSHIPS: You may suspend your membership for 2 weeks quarterly (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep & Oct-Dec). For suspensions longer than 2 weeks, we will charge $10 per week. Suspensions must be 'per week'.
UPFRONT UNLIMITED: There will be no suspensions / extensions made to unlimited upfront paying members.
Termination:
You can terminate memberships at any time however, we require 2 weeks notice to process and you are required to pay the final direct debit.
Basic, Silver, Gold & Platinum Memberships:
Your classes per 'week' start from the day your payment comes out (e.g 2 classes to be used from Wednesday to Tuesday or Thursday to Wednesday). Classes must be used within the week allocated and unused classes do not roll over into the following week.
No Refund:
We have a NO REFUND policy. If you do not wish to use your class pass for whatever reason, we can credit your account in which you may use for merchandise, privates, gift or future classes/workshops.
